Practice Summary - 10/18/25
The Frankenfest hangover is real. Not only was today's practice a little lighter than usual in terms of player attendance, something was also up with the coaching staff. Rumor has it that Coach Myles has not been able to get up off of his couch since last Sunday. Players and parents reported that Coaches Terence, Brendon and Bernard appeared to skating on the ice without their souls today. This was all understandable after such a busy but successful Frankenfest tournament.
But don't fear. Coach Eric, Junior Coach Carmine and Captain Ryan Griffin noticed the coaching staff in disarray and took the reigns of running practice this morning. After a spirited learn-to-skate session, Coach Eric and El Capitan led the players through power skating drills and skills training. One of the reasons the Dare Devils were so successful last weekend was because of their enhanced fitness level. With the game schedule picking up over the next couple of months, Coach Eric ensured that the players maintained their endurance by putting them through two sets of "Herbies" to conclude practice. Kory Wadleigh, Connor Hung, Liam Smith and Kyle Rivers all did well in the skills sessions and TJ Howard skated extremely hard in the endurance training (pictured above gasping for air).
In addition to showing leadership by running the drills today, Captain Ryan Griffin wrote a new post on his Captain’s Corner blog. It can be found by clicking here. Thank you, Cap!
Great work players and thank you to Coach Eric, the Junior Coaches and the other Coaches who made it out to Codey today!
